However, most people are in no position to combat unemployment other than perhaps a number of business owners who are conscious of their payroll. A. Harrison Barnes, however, had made his career out of crusading against unemployment. While some would compare the idea of eliminating unemployment to Don Quixote’s tilting at windmills—Barnes has proven that it is not only possible, he can do it repeatedly. Barnes has engaged in over one hundred projects which are aimed at decreasing unemployment in particular sectors of the economy, or in the economy in general.

These hundreds of projects include employment news magazines, job search websites, recruiting firms, employment services, and student loan companies. Far from being a heartless capitalist, though he is certainly an accomplished entrepreneur, Barnes is what I would call a “conscious capitalist” or “capitalist humanitarian” who uses his businesses to increase the standard of living for everyone by aiming to make gainful employment possible for anyone who desires it. This company has offices in North America, Asia, and Europe—any company that spans three continents must be doing something right.
